Cooking is entitled to women but when it comes to seeing it as a profession, it is highly dominated by men, but here are some astonishing female chefs from around the world who followed their passion and turned out to be true inspiration for women around the globe.

JULIA CHILD

Child is an American Chef, journalist and a television personality. She brought French cuisine to America with her debut cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She build her reputation in the television industry through the show The French Chef. She was very keen towards bringing French cuisine to the American public. Her passion for cooking came into play when her husband got posted in American embassy, Paris where child developed interest towards French cuisine and started schooling at Cordon Bleu cooking school from where her journey started.

TARLA DALAL

Tarla dalal was an Indian chef, food author and a famous television personality. She was very well known from her show, THE TARLA DALAL SHOW. She had the knowledge of many cuisines but specialized in Indian cuisine. Dalal started giving cooking classes at home which was the start of her journey and from there she published her first book, The pleasure of vegetarian cooking, which became very famous. She was also awarded with Padma Shri by the government of India. Many big chefs used to swear by her recipes. She died in November 2013 by a heart attack. Her name can never be forgotten when it comes to female chefs in India.

GIADA PAMELA De LAURENTIIS

Pamela de laurantiis is an Italian born American celebrity chef and is very well known for her cookbooks, food products and her very popular restaurant GIADA in Las Vegas. She has a very charming and charismatic personality. Giada was born and brought up in Rome and had a big fat Italian family. Her love for food developed through her family only. She used to spend a lot of time in her grandfather’s restaurant. Her passion for food lead her to Le cordon bleu for personal training. Her career started on food network in 2002 and she became food network’s most recognizable faces.

CLARE SMYTH

Clare Smyth is a northern Irish chef and is very well known for becoming the first female British Chef to hold and cling to three Michelin Stars. She was born in north Ireland. During her teenage years, she worked at a local restaurant from where she developed her love for cooking. She was United Kingdom’s first female chef to be appointed as the head chef at Gordon Ramsey a restaurant with three Michelin stars.

ANA ROS

Ana Ros is a chef from Slovenia and manages a well-established restaurant Hisa Franko in Kobarid. Hisa Franko is his partner Valter Kramar’s restaurant which was given to them after his parents retired. Ana learned cooking from her mother-in-law and friends and thus is a self-taught chef. She was given the title of world’s best female chef by the world’s 50 best restaurants in 2017. She is a true inspiration for all the ladies who are highly talented but don’t have the facility to go out and learn. From her career, she gives a message loud and clear that it is just dedication that is needed to be successful.

ELENA ARZAK

Elena Arzak is a Spanish chef and is very well known for being a joint head chef of a three Michelin stars restaurant, Arzak. She belongs to family that has cooking in their blood. During her teenage years, she used to work in her father’s restaurant which eventually inspired her towards becoming a chef. She won the award of World’s Best Female chefs in the world in the year 2012.

DOMINIQUE CRENN

Crenn is a French chef very well known for being the first female chef from the United States to hold two Michelin stars for her restaurant Atelier Crenn in San Francisco. She was adopted by a French couple. Her mother was a cook and used to take her to several places to experience different cuisines. Her father was a friend with a food critic who used to take her at Michelin star restaurants. All this inspired her towards cooking and that’s how her journey in the food industry begun.

All these passionate women inspire thousands of women to dream bigger and work harder towards their passion as no matter how big the obstacles are, if you are dedicated, you will get there one day and, as said by Coco Chanel ‘ if you want something you’ve never had before, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done before. ’
