Know How Much Water You Should Drink In A Day
You must have heard from around that the more water you drink, the better is done to your body but it’s not really true. Anything in excess is bad, similarly our body requires a certain amount of nutrients and fluids to function adequately.
In spite of having 70% of water in our bodies, we still need to keep ourselves hydrated because we constantly loose water from our body in the form of sweat and urine. An average human being must drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of water that equals to about 12 to 15 glasses of water a day. Keeping ourselves hydrated helps us to retain moisture in our blood and bones. Drinking adequate amount of water keeps our metabolism on point which keeps us active and energetic throughout the day plus it gives you a healthy and glowing skin. Water is undoubtedly the best fluid you can give to your body but sometimes plain water tends to get boring. In such situations you can make yourself a detox to give a treat to your palate instead of going for soda or other drinks with high amount of sugar and preservatives.
There are always two ends to a pole, yes drinking a good amount of water in a day is healthy for you but drinking it in excess can be really harmful too. Studies have found that drinking too much water or forcing your body to drink more and more water can make you over hydrated causing problems like nausea, headaches, swelling on your hands or lips, fatigue etc. One can also face deadly issues like kidney, liver and brain dysfunctions, coma etc. Some people also believe that a healthy body is indicated by clear urine but that is not at all true. A pale yellow urine indicates a healthy body and a clear urine indicates too much dilution in the body.
Like every other thing in this world, water too has it’s pros and cons which entirely depend on how you take it. Consuming it adequately keeps you healthy but having too much of it will eventually get you sick. So don’t obsess over your water, keep it simple and don’t push too hard.
