There is no point in eating healthy food all day long if one is eating it incorrectly as they loose half of the nutrients in them. Understanding how to eat food properly is how you can reap maximum benefits from it.

1) YOGURT

Have you ever poured down the liquid substance that you see on top of your yogurt thinking that it’s just waste, well you are going wrong here, that watery substance is WHEY, which contains high amount of protein, calcium and minerals which serve numerous health benefits. The best way to reap all the benefits out of yogurt is stirring it before consuming, that’s how you mix all the essentials together which works best for your body.

2) VEGETABLES


Many of us enjoy boiling our veggies such as broccoli, spinach, kale, asparagus etc. before eating them, but a survey with some top nutritionist reveal that boiling vegetables is actually the worst one can do. As you boil your veggies all the nutrients get dissolved in the water that you usually pour down the sink. Similarly frying also causes loss of all the vitamins and minerals from the vegetables. Rather than boiling or frying, one can steam their veggies which keeps the essential nutrients intact.

3) COFFEE

Many of you may desire a jolt of coffee in the morning as soon as you wake up as it gives you a boost but studies suggest that drinking a cup of coffee as the first thing in the morning is not a very beneficial thing. Coffee is said to have many health benefits if consumed in moderation. As they say, anything in excess is bad. The stomach produces hydrochloric acid to digest food and if you take a cup of coffee on an empty tummy, it removes the hydrochloric acid and slows down digestion, a study also proved that caffeine on an empty tummy causes anxiety. The best time to drink a cup of coffee is during mid-morning as it gives a kick without removing essentials from the body. A shot of black coffee works wonders when taken before a workout as it heats up the body.

4) RED WINE


This point is going to give an excuse to run and get yourself a glass of red wine. Wine is said to have great health benefits as it contains large amount of antioxidants. It also prevents heart and brain diseases and is said to fight cancer too, but once it is uncorked, the antioxidants can break down very easily. So it is good to consume wine sooner and not slowly as all the nutrients vanish away soon.

5) FLAXSEEDS

Flaxseeds are said to be rich in omega 3 fiber and are also popularly known to help in weight loss but only if it is consumed right. Eating a whole flaxseed will not provide much benefits as it gets difficult for the body to digest them, it is better to grind them before consuming as it gets easier to digest and take up maximum benefits out of it.
